It ensures stable oil pressure in all conditions, whether on the road or on the track. Turbocharged direct-injection petrol engines can sometimes experience sporadic pre-ignition phenomena, known as LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition) or Rumble, which produce a metallic noise and can cause significant damage.

For modern petrol engines, often downsized and equipped with turbochargers, the API SP standard was developed to ensure maximum protection against these abnormal combustion events. This oil is suitable for all types of fuel, whether leaded or unleaded petrol, Ethanol E85, LPG, diesel or biofuels.
