The recirculation valve, often called a "dump valve", is essential for regulating boost pressure in your engine. When the turbo is running at full speed, it generates boost that cannot be stopped or slowed abruptly, as the intake is still full of compressed air. If this residual pressure is not properly vented, it returns to the compressor, creating potentially damaging reverse pressure.

Installed on the intake duct, the relief valve has a spring-loaded diaphragm or a piston that lifts as soon as an increase in pressure is detected. Once the air has been released in an instant, you can change gear and regain boost almost immediately, without any noticeable interruption! In addition, this valve emits a distinctive "tssssch" whistle when it opens, adding a sound effect to your driving experience.
