Unlike belt-driven mechanical pumps, the EWP operates electrically without placing a direct load on the engine, freeing up to 10 kW (13 ch) extra. It can replace a traditional mechanical pump or be added as an auxiliary pump to reinforce the cooling system.
Paired with a digital controller (sold separately under reference 414CONTROL4 or in the EWP Combo Pack), the system automatically adjusts pump speed according to coolant temperature. This ensures optimum performance and increased energy efficiency. The controller offers several adjustable temperature ranges to maximise power or improve energy efficiency.
After the engine stops, the controller continues operating for three minutes (or until the temperature falls 10°C below the target), preventing heat soak and extending engine life. The pump is supplied on its own.
