225/45/18 Yokohama AD09 Tire

1. Product Introduction

The road-legal Yokohama AD09 (size 225/45 R18 95W) is a high-performance semi-slick tire designed for drivers who demand excellent grip, precise steering, and sporty handling—whether on the road or during dynamic track sessions. Part of Yokohama’s performance lineup, it is intended for high-performance vehicles, modified road cars, and vehicles used for recreational sports driving.

2. Role of the part

The tire provides the direct link between the vehicle and the road. It transmits engine power, braking forces, and lateral loads to the ground. In a performance-oriented tire like the Yokohama AD09, the design of the tread pattern and the rubber compound are engineered to optimize grip, high-speed stability, and steering precision—all while remaining fully road-legal.

3. Symptoms or consequences of a worn or defective part

• Loss of grip during acceleration, braking, or cornering
• Increased braking distances, particularly on wet road surfaces
• Uneven tread wear
• Vibrations in the steering wheel or unstable handling
• Increased risk of aquaplaning if tread depth is insufficient
• Reduced precision in the front end and less steering feedback

4. Advantages of replacement

• Improved grip on dry roads and during spirited driving
• Greater steering precision and more direct feedback
• More stable handling during heavy braking and high-load cornering
• Road-legal, allowing for versatile use
• An excellent choice for a sports car used on the road and for occasional track days
• Enhanced safety thanks to optimized grip and traction
