230/625/17 tyre Yokohama A005

Slick circuit tyre Yokohama A005 230/625/17 Hard / Medium compound

The Yokohama A005 in size 230/625/17 is a slick tyre intended for use on circuits, designed to offer a high level of grip, precision and consistency during driving sessions, private tests or competitions. From the Slick Circuit Yokohama range, this tyre is aimed at drivers looking for a high-performance solution to fully exploit the potential of a vehicle prepared or dedicated to the track.

Purpose of the part

The slick tyre ensures direct contact between the car and the track. Unlike a road or semi-slick tyre, its smooth tread maximizes the contact surface on the ground in order to improve traction, braking, cornering stability and steering precision on dry surfaces. The Hard/Medium compound combines performance, endurance and wear resistance during intensive use on the circuit.

Signs or consequences of a worn or defective tyre

• Loss of grip when accelerating, braking or supporting
• Less consistent lap times and drop in performance
• Longer braking distances
• Unstable behavior of the vehicle in curves or when changing support
• Irregular wear which may indicate poor geometry, pressure or camber adjustment
• Increased risk of rapid degradation if overheated or used outside of optimal range

Benefits of replacement

• Restoration of the optimal level of grip on dry tracks
• Better steering precision and clearer feedback
• Improved traction when exiting turns
• More stable and efficient braking
• More constant behavior on relays depending on the conditions of use
• Suitable for high-performance circuit, competition or trackday vehicles
