MOTUL 8100 X-CESS 5W40 1L engine oil is a high-quality synthetic lubricant designed for modern, powerful vehicles with petrol or diesel engines. Whether your engine is naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with direct or indirect injection, this oil is perfectly suited. It is compatible with all fuel types, including leaded or unleaded petrol, ethanol, LPG, diesel and biofuels, and works with catalytic converters (CAT).
It meets ACEA A3/B4 and API SERVICE SN standards and holds MB-Approval 229.5/226.5, PORSCHE A40, RENAULT RN0710 and RN0700, VW 502 00 – 505 00 approvals, as well as meeting BMW Long-Life 01 performance requirements (for models up to the end of 2018), CHRYSLER MS-12991, FIAT 9.55535-G2/H2/M2/N2/Z2, GM-Opel LL B-025 (Diesel) and PSA B71 2296.
In terms of specifications, this oil has an SAE J 300 5W-40 viscosity grade. Its density at 20°C is 0.851 according to ASTM D1298. Viscosity is 85.4 mm²/s at 40°C and 14.2 mm²/s at 100°C, measured according to ASTM D445. HTHS viscosity at 150°C is 3.7 mPa.s, and the viscosity index is 172 according to ASTM D2270. The pour point is -36°C and the flash point is 232°C. Sulphated ash represents 1.1% by mass and the TBN is 10.1 mg KOH/g.
