The turbo heat shields are designed to reduce the heat generated by the turbocharger, preventing damage caused by high temperatures while improving engine performance. They help retain heat inside the turbo, speeding up boost build-up (spool) and optimising engine efficiency. By lowering underbonnet temperatures, they also protect other heat-sensitive components, extending their service life.

DEI turbo blanket range:

1. Ultra 47™ Heat resistance: 980°C radiant and 730°C direct. Compatible with most turbos, it retains heat in the turbo to improve boost build-up (spool) and reduces underbonnet heat, extending the life of sensitive components.
2. Titanium™ & Onyx™ Heat resistance: 980°C (titanium) or 1370°C (onyx) radiant and 730°C (titanium) or 980°C (onyx) direct. In addition to the features of the Ultra 47™ range, they have silica insulation layers, greater flexibility and stainless steel reinforcements for increased corrosion resistance and better fastening.
3. Titanium™ GEN-3 & Onyx™ GEN-3 Heat resistance: 980°C radiant and 730°C direct. In addition to the features of the Titanium™ & Onyx™ ranges, they incorporate stainless steel wire for increased durability, a silicone outer coating to improve longevity and limit oil and chemical absorption, and a stainless steel mesh inner lining for additional protection.
