Turbocharger heat shields are specifically designed to reduce excessive heat generated by the turbo, prevent damage caused by high temperatures and improve engine performance. By retaining heat inside the turbo, they optimise boost build-up (spool) and overall engine efficiency. By lowering under-bonnet temperatures, they also protect other heat-sensitive components, extending their service life.
