300/650/18 tyre Yokohama A005

Product introduction

The Yokohama A005 tyre in size 300/650/18 is a competition slick designed for circuit use. Part of the Slick Circuit range, it is aimed at racing vehicles, prototypes, GTs, modified saloons and cars used in trackdays or competition requiring a high level of grip on dry tracks.

Role of the part

The slick tyre provides the direct link between the vehicle and the track. With its smooth tread, the Yokohama A005 maximises the contact patch to optimise traction, braking, steering precision and stability under cornering loads. Compound choice allows tyre behaviour to be adapted to track conditions, ambient temperature and stint length.

Symptoms or consequences of a worn or faulty part

• Loss of grip under acceleration, braking or cornering.
• Longer braking distances on dry tracks.
• Reduced stability at high speeds.
• Uneven wear that can cause vibration or loss of performance.
• Reduced consistency over several fast laps.
• Increased risk of overheating, graining or delamination if used inappropriately.

Benefits of replacement

• Restores optimal grip on dry circuits.
• Improves driving precision and running gear feedback.
• Promotes more stable and more effective braking.
• Allows the compound to be adapted to the event type and driving conditions.
• Optimises lap time consistency on track.
• Suitable for intensive motorsport use.
